The California Legislature enacted Senate Bill 1107, raising the minimum financial responsibility limits for motor vehicles to the following levels:
• Bodily Injury Liability Limits no less than $30,000 per person and $60,000 per accident.
• Property Damage Liability limits no less than $15,000 per accident.
• Uninsured Motorists Bodily Injury limits no less than $30,000 per person and $60,000 per accident.
Changes That May Impact Your Policy
If your previous policy reflected split limits for Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability that were lower than the state minimum limits shown above, your policy limits have been increased to the new minimum limits as required by new state law.
If your previous policy reflected a combined single limit for Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability that was lower than the state minimum limits shown above, your policy limits have been increased to a $100,000 combined single limit.
If your previous policy reflected split limits for Uninsured Motorists Bodily Injury Liability that were lower than the state minimum limits shown above, your policy limits have been increased to $30,000 per person and $60,000 per accident. If your previous policy reflected Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury Liability limits of $50,000 per person and $50,000 per accident, your policy limits have been increased to $100,000 per person and $100,000 per accident.
If your coverage limits have changed, it may result in an increase in premium on your policy.
